Development of the simple analytical method for determination of arsenate(V) ion using fluorescence-labeled DNA and cerium oxide nanoparticles

Abstract Arsenic (As) contamination in groundwater presents a major health and environmental concern. As is found two oxidation states most chemical tests for inorganic arsenic are focused on As(III), few have been developed As(V). We the simple analytical method determining As(V) concentrations using CeO2NPs fluorescein (FAM)-labeled DNA. Prior to sample measurements, we investigated key operational parameters that affect sensing performance. The optimal final concentration, FAM-labeled DNA sequence length of DNA, incubation time were 15 ?g/mL, 400 nM, 6-mer poly-cytosine sequence, 6 min, respectively. After optimizing parameters, total analysis was about 20 min limit detection 0.61 ?M. This has high selectivity against same Cu(II), Cd(II), Hg(II) Pb(II). Pretreatment by cation extraction remove interfering ions beneficial determination containing variety metal cations at concentration. could determine concentration groundwater. Modification reactions necessary. study provides first step development on-site analysis.
